Fourth annual NLATM mini-conference held Feb. 27 at ULM campus

The fourth annual Northeast Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics Mini-Conference will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, in the Airway Sciences Building at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

Mathematics teachers from this area and surrounding parishes will share, learn, and discover unique techniques that will inspire students in the classroom.

Talented speakers from northeast Louisiana will focus on various strands of mathematics including algebra, geometry, and probability and will cover a range of grade level expectations.

Mini-Conference participants will be able to select from many interesting session topics such as: "Bucket Approach to Word Problems," "LIGO: Single Digitization and 'Casting Out Nines,' "The Great Fraction Chase," "Integrating Mathematics in Literature," "The Beauty of String Art - Line Design," and much more.

The conference offers an excellent networking opportunity for elementary and secondary teachers as well as mathematics teachers from institutions of higher education. Participants will also be able to earn up to three one-hour certificates of participation, which may contribute to their continuing education requirements.
