ULM officials to host grand opening of newly refurbished Nursing Building Oct. 8

The community is invited to join the University of Louisiana at Monroe campus family at the Grand Opening of its newly remodeled ULM College of Health Sciences School of Nursing Building on Friday, Oct. 8.

The event, which is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium of the Nursing Building at University Avenue, will include a recognition program honoring the 50th anniversary of the ULM School of Nursing, followed by tours of the three-story building.

Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo, ULM Interim President Stephen Richters and Dr. Denny Ryman, dean of the College of Health Sciences, will be among the dignitaries participating in this special event.

ULM’s nursing graduates consistently exceed state and national average scores on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), a test considered the final hurdle in a nursing student’s career. Recently, the School of Nursing created an online bachelor of science degree in nursing to encourage those associate’s degree registered nurses seeking to return to school.
