Miss Louisiana 2011 and ULM alum to host fundraiser Dec. 10

University of Louisiana at Monroe alumna and Miss Louisiana 2011 Hope Anderson will host "A Night of Hope" fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network Saturday, Dec. 10.

The event will occur at the home of Carolyn and Harvey Perry at 6 p.m. Complete information about the fundraiser is available by calling 318-325-3191.

Anderson has set a goal to raise $25,000 to go to the Children's Miracle Network through the partnership established with the Miss America Organization.

The Children's Miracle Network and Miss America have been in a co-beneficial partnership since January 2007.

Each year, the new Miss America is an official goodwill ambassador for Children's Miracle Network as she raises funds and awareness for both Children's Miracle Network and the Miss America Organization.

This partnership continues to provide millions of dollars to the Children's Miracle Network as well as scholarships to young women across the nation.

Anderson is a Monroe native and ULM graduate with a degree in mass communications.

She was crowned Miss Louisiana on June 25, and has since worked very hard promoting her platform "Pilots for Patients" and preparing for the Miss America Pageant at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nev., Jan. 10-14.

The pageant will air live Jan. 14 on ABC.
