Brett Bennett, (B.S. ’01; M.Ed. ’06) director of the Radiologic Technology Program at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, along with his wife Kristen and children Jerrica, Beaux, and Rayleigh, recently received the honor of Outstanding Veteran Family.

“I am honored and humbled to receive this recognition,” said Bennett.

“My wife and I committed to each other through good times and bad, and the difficulties associated with military deployments are tough. I am thankful for my family, my ULM family, and the military community here in Northeast Louisiana.”

Bennett served eight years in the U.S. Army and 12 years in the Louisiana National Guard, with deployments to Somalia, Haiti, Germany, Australia, and two hurricanes in South Louisiana.

Bennett has taught at ULM for 11 years.
