ULM’s Mullone elected to National Board of the American College Dance Festival Association

Tina Mullone, assistant professor of dance at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, has been elected to the National Board of the American College Dance Festival Association.

Mullone’s three-year term of service extends from November 1, 2012, to October 31, 2015.

Dr. Michael Camille, interim dean of the ULM College of Arts and Sciences, offered his congratulations to Mullone.

"It is a well-deserved honor to be selected by [one’s] peers to serve on the ACDFA Board of Directors. I am happy to see that the excellence Ms. Mullone brings to the dance program is being recognized outside of ULM."

As stated in the letter announcing her post, the ACDFA's primary focus is to support and promote the wealth of talent and creativity that is prominent throughout college and university dance departments.

ACDFA's sponsorship of regional conferences and the biannual national dance festival are the primary means for college and university dance programs to perform outside their own academic setting, receive adjudicator feedback, and be exposed to the diversity of the national college dance world.

"Board members are responsible for steering national ACDFA policy, and are instrumental to the health and development of dance in the academy," said ACDFA Executive Director Diane DeFries.

"It is an honor to be elected, and this honor reflects most positively on a professor’s institution."
