We offer the skills and knowledge you need for some of the most rewarding careers in the world.

We are a vital part of the university, serving students across a broad spectrum of disciplines and offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs at every level. In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success and academic excellence of each and every student who walks through our doors.

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us. 

Our outstanding faculty and staff offer a supportive learning environment dedicated to preparing highly qualified professionals to meet the workforce demands of the community, the region and beyond.

ULM English professor awarded prestigious ATLAS grant to complete book project

Dr. Patrick Morgan, Assistant Professor of English at the University of Louisiana Monroe, has received an ATLAS grant from the Louisiana Board of Regents. These Awards to Louisiana Artists and Scholars (ATLAS) are only given to a few scholars each year, and Morgan's project, titled, "Geological Reformations in 19th-Century American Letters," was awarded full funding at $39,111. The rigorous external review process determined that, out of all the proposals submitted by scholars throughout the state, Morgan's book project was ranked first.

Fan-favorite musical Fiddler on the Roof coming to ULM's Brown Auditorium May 18 and 19

The classic favorite musical "Fiddler on the Roof" will be performed on May 18 and May 19 by the Louisiana Opera and the University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts on the ULM campus in Brown Auditorium. On Saturday, May 18, the show will be at 7:30 pm, while on Sunday, May 19, the matinee will start at 2:00 pm. Tickets can by purchased at the door prior to each performance. General Admission tickets are $20, Faculty/Staff tickets are $10, and student tickets are FREE upon the presentation of a student ID.

ULM hosts Student Showcase for Environmental Education Grant Student Showcase

The University of Louisiana Monroe hosted a group of local high school students and guests from state and federal agencies at the ULM-EPA Environmental Education Grant Student Showcase on April 26, 2024. The event was a culmination of a three-year grant whose theme and purpose was "Creating the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards." Partner schools included Caldwell Parish High School, Neville High School, Ouachita Parish High School, St. Frederick High School, and West Monroe High School.

ULM art students succeed at UL System event

The University of Louisiana Monroe was represented at the University of Louisiana System 9th Annual Academic Summit by 10 student presenters, five of which presented their research in visual arts.
