Melody Olson is a real estate developer and manages several real estate companies, which she started in 1994.
She currently serves on the board of directors for Guaranty Bank, and previously worked in the insurance and securities industry for 15 years.
Her personal passion is preservation of historical properties located mostly in downtown Monroe working closely with Monroe Renaissance, a non-profit formed to revitalize the downtown area.
Past projects include the Monroe Downtown Rivermarket; restoration of the old Penn Hotel, located in downtown Monroe, into iconic pink condominiums; the bi-annual fireworks show in downtown Monroe; and beautification of area parks.
Melody was born and raised in the Twin Cities, and says her best accomplishments are her two children, Dr. Danielle Rushing and Nick Olson. A close second are her two rescue pups, Sassy and Pepper.
