2016 Panelist: Robin Stephens

 

Robin Stephens is an Associate Professor of Dance in the School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

In addition to her faculty role, Robin has directed and choreographed VAPA's productions of Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Into the Woods, West Side Story, and the upcoming production of RENT.

Robin earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University, and a Master of Science in Exercise Science from Louisiana State University.

Her Broadway credits include the original company of 42nd St, the first National Tour of 42nd St., and Dance a Little Closer.

Regional performances include Mame, Applause, Gypsy, George M., Camelot, Can Can, Paint Your Wagon, Where’s Charlie?, The Roar of the Grease Paint the Smell of the Crowd, Anything Goes, Peter Pan, The Apple Tree, and Cabaret.

Original choreography include The Game of Love, Hello Dolly, The Little Shop of Horrors, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Oklahoma, Cabaret, City of Angles, Parade, Bat Boy, The Man of La Mancha, Once Upon a Mattress, George M, The Fantastics, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Songs for a New World, Violet, The Baker’s Wife, Anything Goes, and Gypsy.

Professional regional theater associations include Oklahoma Lyric Theater, Music Theater of Wichita, Casa Manna of Ft. Worth, and Dallas Summer Musicals.

Prior to moving to Monroe, Robin was a dance instructor and choreographer at Coastal Carolina University at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Robin successfully worked in the Health Care Industry as an Exercise Scientist with a specialty in Cardiac Rehabilitation and worked her way up to the Director of Cardiovascular Services.
