2016 Panelist: Dr. Sushma Krishnamurthy

 

Dr. Sushma Krishnamurthy is a Professor of Biology and Coordinator of the Biology Program and Director of the School of Sciences at the University of Louisiana Monroe.

In her capacity as the School Director, she supervises the areas of atmospheric sciences, biology, chemistry, geography, mathematics, and physics.

Dr. Krishnamurthy came to at ULM eight years ago as the Department Head of Biology. Prior to ULM, she was a faculty member at Texas A&M International University in Laredo, Texas.

Dr. Krishnamurthy is a member of the Board of Directors of the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council. She is has been a supporter of the United Way for over 20 years, and will serve this year as Vice-chair of ULM's United Way Ad Hoc Committee.

Dr. Krishnamurthy received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in Marine, Estuarine and Environmental Sciences.

She is the proud mother of a son who will be graduating from college this year.
