With a Master of Arts in Gerontology from University of Louisiana Monroe (30 credit hours), you can pursue an exciting career in Aging Studies, Long Term Care, Health Care Management, or Grief Care Management for a rewarding career providing high-quality services to the aging population.

If you are currently working in healthcare, business, psychology, education, or other areas, a Master’s in Gerontology can transition your career to better serve this expanding population.

ULM’s 100% online program is ideal for employed individuals who are interested in advancing or transitioning their current career.

Master of Arts in Gerontology (MA) Concentrations

Aging Studies - Focuses on preparing students for advanced degrees in Gerontology to pursue careers in research, policy development, and higher education. 

Long-term Care Administration - Focuses on training students to become administrators in Assisted Living facilities, Skilled Nursing Care facilities, and other long-term care facilities that provide services to the elderly population.

Grief Care Management - Focuses on training students to become grief care coordinators and group coordinators/facilitators in agencies such as, hospice care, hospitals, outpatient clinics, funeral homes, etc. 

Health Care Management - combines geriatric training with business management skills. 

 

Additional Options

The Senior Healthcare Management Certificate is a 15-hour fully online Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Gerontological Studies that consists of Gerontology and Business coursework.

The online Gerontology Minor is an 18-hour fully online add-on undergraduate minor in Gerontology.
