Frequently Asked Questions

Is the program accredited?
The master's program is accredited by COAMFTE.  The program's accreditation allows students to meet the academic requirements for licensure as a LMFT, in Louisiana and most other states.

Will I be eligible for licensure upon graduation?
Graduates must apply with the state licensing board to become a state-approved intern and must be approved to be supervised by a board-approved supervisor. This required internship process takes at least two years post-degree, and must be completed within seven years of having registered with the board. For more information, visit http://lpcboard.org.

Can I attend as a part-time student?
The program is a cohort model and students are required to attend full-time.

Are any of the courses offered online?
The program is predominately face-to-face. However, some courses may be offered online or in a hybrid format.

When will I be notified regarding an admissions decision?
If you have been selected for an on-campus interview, you will be notified by mid-March. If you are accepted to the program, you will receive notification in writing by the first week in April.
