You can go to college with no tuition debt. Scholarships and stipends in Army ROTC pay for college courses and help you focus on what’s important. Namely, getting that college degree — not how you’ll pay for it.
The Army’s four year national high school scholarship program conducts three (3) scholarship boards annually. National Army ROTC Scholarships are awarded to High School seniors who will soon graduate. Students and can be awarded a 3-year or 4-year scholarship by the National Based scholarship process. These scholarships cover full tuition and fees (uncapped) or $10,000 per year toward room and board. Scholarship recipients also receive a book allowance of $1200.00 a year ($600.00 per semester) and a monthly living stipend of $420 while attending school depending on their academic year in the ROTC program.
The 4-yr scholarships pay for four years of college (tuition + most fees, book stipend, monthly stipend). The 3AD scholarship pays for only three years of college. For the 3AD, the cost for the first year is the responsibility of the student and is the “validation” or probation year to determine if the student is a viable candidate for the ROTC program.
If you are applying for a scholarship, you first will need to create a MYGOARMY account. Once you create an account, you will be sent to the MY GOARMY Log In page. Once you can successfully login to MY GOARMY, you can use your newly created account information to log in to the scholarship application site.
