Institutional Research, part of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, is committed to providing timely, accurate, and consistent information and data about the University of Louisiana Monroe to all constituents, both internal to and external of the institution. Common uses of information provided by Institutional Research are in preparation for program reaccreditation, surveys and national rankings, grant research and planning, and governmentally-mandated reporting. Additionally, IR provides data to aid in decision-making, development, forecasting, and administration of the university at multiple functional levels.

It is the commitment of Institutional Research to assist with the needs of all individuals with an interest in accurate figures on the institution. IR compiles and evaluates institutional data to provide both descriptive and analytical information to the requesting parties and will work with all parties to make sure that all data needs are appropriately vetted, evaluated, and achieved. Common requests for data include:
Please keep in mind that – due to variations in complexity of pulling and analyzing data – a short turnaround may not always be possible. Because of this, IR asks that data requests be made at a minimum two weeks prior to the date on which the information is needed to ensure that all information requests can be filled.
Information and data requests that fall outside the standard reporting requirements must remain compliant with FERPA regulations. Institutional Research is sensitive to both an individual’s right to privacy of personal information as well as the requesting agency’s need for complete and adequate analysis. Because of this, IR follows institutional policy for the release of all information relating to students. Requests for information will be filled in such a way as to balance the needs of the requesting individual against the institution’s students’ right to privacy.
