Amphibians and Reptiles (Class Amphibia and Class Reptilia)

As with the fishes, no formal herpetological (amphibians and reptiles) surveys have been conducted at Restoration Park. Louisiana has at least 130 species of amphibians and reptiles including 22 salamanders, 27 frogs and toads, 27 turtles, 14 lizards, 39 snakes, and 1 crocodilean (American alligator). Many forms have been observed commonly at the park including treefrogs, bullfrogs, leopard frogs, cricket frogs, toads, anoles (lizard), five-lined skinks, broad-headed skinks, water snakes, rough green snakes, kingsnakes, garter snakes, brown snakes, box turtles, and red-eared turtles.
