Jae Farmer is an adjunct instructor in the ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts, teaching major applied guitar/bass lessons, music appreciation, and coaching small jazz groups. They earned a Bachelor of Music at the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2019 and earned a Master of Music in Jazz Studies at the University Of Arkansas at Monticello in 2023.

Farmer has had a long history as a freelancer before joining ULM. In addition to performing, in 2020 they opened Gracenote Music Academy, a private music lessons facility that provides space for teachers to work. Since 2014, they have taught guitar full-time at Matt's Music in Monroe LA, and have trained many students who have gone on to become working professionals across the NELA region.
