The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s online MBA was ranked at number 25 in the nation as part of OnlineU.org’s list of the 2014 Most Affordable Colleges for an Online MBA Degree.

According to OnlineU.org, this list displays the 25 most affordable schools offering online MBA degrees. The schools included on the list range in annual tuition from $3,912 up to $17,404. There are dozens of schools offering MBA programs online, but some of these distance education options have tuition costs as high as $42,000 per year.

"I am pleased to see that the value of our MBA program continues to be recognized nationally," said Dr. Eric Pani, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

"When you couple our affordability with the increase in salary that an MBA brings, you have an impressive return on investment. Add in the high quality of our courses and the professional qualifications of our faculty and the result is striking."

The methodology of the list incorporates accreditation, flexibility, and graduate and undergraduate tuition.

OnlineU.org added further methodology stating, "MBA programs typically take two years to complete, but many of these schools offer flexible courseload options for working professionals who need to take classes part time and for those looking for an accelerated MBA as well."

"The schools represented on this list offer online MBA students the ability to focus their studies on everything from computer information systems, to marketing, to project management, to health services administration and more."

Paula Thornhill, director of ULM's online program eULM, said "ULM is committed to providing adult learners the opportunity to earn their education beyond our campus by offering degree programs in an accelerated and online format."

"The University and College of Business and Social Sciences have demonstrated an understanding of the needs of adult learners by designing an accredited and affordable MBA program. The barriers that once prevented adult learners from earning a degree have been removed."

ULM was noted for its favorable accreditation and low net price—including exceptional scholarship and financial aid opportunities. OnlineU.org explained that the university’s low net price was lower than 75 percent of all online schools.

Dr. Ron Berry, dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences, said, "The continued national recognition of our MBA program as a high quality and high value program is a testament to the outstanding work of our faculty and staff."

The university’s finance undergraduate degree was also highlighted as the number 10 most affordable in the nation.

According to OnlineU.org, the rankings were last updated this month and will continue to be updated on a quarterly basis as new online college tuition fee information becomes available.

ULM offers a variety of online degrees at the associate, bachelors, masters, and doctorate level.

ULM’s business programs are accredited regionally, nationally, and worldwide, including accreditation by AACSB-International, the premier business accreditation agency in the world.
