ULM Wind Ensemble concert rescheduled after severe weather

The School of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will present a concert featuring the Wind Ensemble at 7:30 p.m., on Nov. 14, in Brown Auditorium. The event was originally scheduled for Oct. 14.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The ensemble is conducted by the Director of VAPA, Dr. Derle R. Long.

The theme for the performance is “Band Dancing” and it will feature a varied selection of works from ballet, opera, and other dance music scores.

Included is “Sarabande and Polka” from the Malcolm Arnold Ballet “Solitare;” Sir Arthur Sullivan’s “Pineapple Poll Suite,” which is a parody of opera overtures and arias; “Cakewalk,” based on piano melodies of Louis Moreau Gottschalk; “Dance of the Jesters,” by Peter I. Tchaikovsky, and a ragtime piece by John Philip Sousa titled “With Pleasure.”
