The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Office of Career Connections will host its annual spring Career Fair for ULM juniors, seniors, and alumni, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Student Union Ballroom, located on the second floor of the Student Union Building (SUB).

More than 60 companies—all looking for new employees and interns—will be in attendance. Alumni, and juniors and seniors who are graduating within the next 12 months or are looking to enhance their marketability by participating in a summer internship are encouraged to attend this event.

Professional dress is required and pre-registration is available until 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 5.

“Considering the competitiveness of the current job market, students should take advantage of this chance to meet face to face with prospective employers and make a great impression;” said Roslynn Pogue, director of Career Connections.

Two pre-career fair workshops will be held on Feb. 10.

“How to Work a Career Fair” will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the SUB Ballroom. This workshop features various professionals from local and regional companies who will share ideas on what job seekers should expect before and during a career fair. The professional panel will include representatives from Republic Finance, State Farm, CenturyLink, Altria Corporation, Brookshire’s, Sherwin Williams, Vantage Health and St. Francis Medical Center.

“Lunch with Professionals” will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 10, in the SUB Ballroom. This workshop addresses what a potential hire should do if called for an interview. During the “Lunch with Professionals” workshop, a professional panel will cover aspects of the “next step.” The panel will include representatives from CenturyLink, Sherwin Williams, Altria Corporation, Republic Finance and State Farm. Lunch, sponsored by Sherwin Williams, will be provided for those who attend.
