ULM Child Development Center to raise funds for St. Jude with annual trike-a-thon

Published February 12, 2015

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Child Development Center will host its annual spring community service project—the Mardi Gras Parade Trike-A-Thon for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The event teaches children about the importance of service.

The project also serves a platform to help teach children about tricycle safety, which is taught in classroom lessons leading up to the parade.

The parade will begin at the ULM Child Development Center at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13. The center is located on Cole Ave. in Monroe.

The center participates in one community service project each semester. Students have also collected toiletries for the homeless, and assembled Christmas boxes for charity.

King Mitchell Hendrix and Queen Abigail Bruscato will serve as grand marshals for the event.
