ULM Graduate School and Library Launch Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Published March 03, 2015

Beginning March 16, ULM’s Graduate School will launch an initiative allowing submission of student theses and dissertations electronically, beginning with the Marriage and Family Therapy and the Doctorate of Education graduate programs.

All Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs) will be managed by ProQuest, a Michigan-based global information-content company.

The process is aimed at boosting efficiency in submitting graduate work. Goals include saving both money and time for students, as well as generating cost savings and ensuring consistency for the ULM Graduate School and Library.

Once a student sets up a free account, he or she is ready to begin the submission process that should take, on average, less than an hour to complete.

ULM’s ETD system will be managed by Melissa Thorpe, who will provide consistency in the submission process and maintain compliance with Graduate School policies.

All necessary forms, policies and checklists will be embedded in the ETD system to enhance the process and workflow.

By Fall 2015, all graduate programs will use the ETD format for submitting theses and dissertations.
