In collaboration with LifeShare Blood Centers, the University of Louisiana Monroe Medical Laboratory Science program will sponsor a blood drive on Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20.

Lifeshare will be on campus from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Warhawk Circle next to the ULM Library.

Medical Laboratory Science Director Debbie Wisenor encourages all students, faculty, and staff to donate blood, if they are able.

"One blood donation, approximately one pint of blood, can save up to three lives. Giving blood is safe, simple, and it saves lives. It is an easy way to help someone else that doesn't require a lot of time and effort.  ULM has a tradition of holding blood drives each semester so that students and employees can give blood on campus. Giving blood is giving the gift of life!” Wisenor said.

It takes 20 to 40 minutes to donate, depending on which procedure is used.

Lifeshare's Donor Coordinator and Recruiter, Greg Hasley explains, "Your gift is carefully provided to someone in need, maybe someone fighting cancer or sickle cell, or was in an accident. Your blood donation could impact the life of someone you know, someone you'll meet, or your closest loved one."

All you need to donate is a photo ID (driver’s license or ULM ID).
