The University of Louisiana Monroe’s annual Convocation is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019 in Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The "Freshman March" to ULM Convocation.

Convocation marks the beginning of a new academic year and is organized as part of ULM’s Week of Welcome for the first week of the fall semester.

A tradition for Convocation is the "Freshman March," a walk down Northeast Drive from the library, across the Bayou DeSiard bridge to the coliseum. Members of the Warhawk family also join in the walk. Those participating will gather at 4:30 p.m. at the Kitty DeGree Bell Tower. The walk begins at 4:40 p.m.

Dr. Barbara Michaelides, Director of Retention, will serve as MC during the ceremony. Students will hear from ULM President Dr. Nick J. Bruno and alumnus Alton Clay as well as SGA President Olivia Bailey and 31 Ambassadors.

The event continues at Malone Stadium for a 6 p.m. pep rally–football meet and greet. The high-energy atmosphere will include Warhawk coaches, players, the Sound of Today Marching Band, cheerleaders, Hawkline and Ace the Mascot.
