The University of Louisiana Monroe and ULM Foundation have established a Financial
Emergency Fund to help students facing hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fund provides approved students with resources for remote learning, food, housing,
transportation, basic needs and unforeseen personal challenges.
To expedite distribution from the fund, the webpage www.ulm.edu/coronavirus/fund has been set up for students to apply. The deadline is April 6.
Students must log in with their campus credentials. The application consists of a
statement describing the COVID-19-related hardship with specific costs and details,
and supporting information/documentation.

ULM was one of the first universities in the state to respond to the health crisis
by transitioning from face-to-face classes to remote learning and social distancing
to lessen campus exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
Students able to return home have been encouraged to do so. The university is accommodating
those remaining on campus due to individual circumstances.
"Some students must remain on campus during this time, and the university is providing
resources and alternative meal options," said President Nick J. Bruno, Ph.D. "Other
students reside off-campus and need help to continue their studies. Many have lost
their part-time jobs, or their parents are suddenly unemployed. All of this can place
tremendous financial stress on students and their families. Through this fund, we
can help meet immediate needs."
The ULM campus is closed to the general public following Gov. John Bel Edwards Stay
At Home Order and guidelines from the UL System and CDC. Necessary personnel remain
on campus while most employees are now working remotely.
