The University of Louisiana Monroe and ULM Alumni Association announces the appointment of Sarah O’Connor Siereveld as the new Director of Alumni.

Sarah Siereveld

Siereveld, who started in early January, will oversee, coordinate, develop, and manage all aspects of the Alumni Association.

“I am ecstatic to begin my journey as the ULM Director of Alumni. I was in a place in my career journey where I no longer felt challenged and was in search of an organization that prioritized its people and its mission. With my experience and my educational background, I was also ready to make an impact at an organizational level. During the interview process, I learned that I could both grow and make an impact with ULM, and I can’t wait to move the Alumni Association forward,” Siereveld said.

Siereveld earned her MBA from the ULM College of Business and Social Sciences, with a concentration in public administration. As a graduate assistant for Professor of Accounting Michelle McEacharn, Ph.D., she was a co-author of the article “Tenure clock policy transparency for biological clock (family friendly) events” in Administrative Issues Journal.

Siereveld has worked with for-profit and nonprofit industries, specializing in human resources, marketing, and operations. Her customer service background has provided her experience in leadership development, streamlining organizational processes, and strategic use of branding to promote business growth.

Siereveld also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University, and spent her first career in the performing arts industry – on and off the stage. In 2017, Siereveld became the business manager for Capital City Theatre in Madison, Wis.

She serves as treasurer for the New Music on the Bayou Summer Festival and as a board member for the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council.

“We are so excited to welcome Sarah to the ULM family. Her experience in both for-profit and non-profit industries will be invaluable as we grow the Alumni Association and services we offer,” stated Susan Chappell, Executive Director of the ULM Foundation and Alumni Affairs.
