MONROE, LA – The ULM Art Program and Bry Art Gallery are currently hosting an exhibition of works
titled “Quiet Resonance” by Shreveport artist Eric Hess. The exhibition began September
23 and runs through October 16. An artist’s talk will be given on Wednesday, October
16th, in Sandel Hall Room 238 from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m., with a reception following
from 6:15 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. in Bry Art Gallery.
Eric Hess is the co-founder of Sanctuary Glass Studio in Shreveport, La. His art has
been exhibited for many years. “As soon as you enter the gallery, you will find yourself
mesmerized by the materials and the story. What that story is will be completely up
to you, the viewer,” the ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts says of Hess’s “Quiet
Resonance.”
Bry Art Gallery is located in Bry Hall, 4101 Desiard St. in Monroe, and is open from
8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. on Fridays.
The public is invited, and admission is free.
The School of Visual and Performing Arts also held a Faculty Show in Bry Art Gallery
from August 26 – September 19, 2024. The show featured work from visual arts professors
Brooke Foy, Tamrin Ingram, Gary Ratcliff, Vitus Shell, Megan Smith, Winnie Tomeny,
and Clifford Tresner.
Faculty presentations and a reception were held on September 19.
The School of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Louisiana Monroe aims
to provide students with the highest level of arts education, research and educational
opportunities to majors and minors. VAPA aims to offer curricular, co-curricular and
extracurricular opportunities to students enrolled at ULM, as well as provide cultural
activities, special events and performances for university, local and area communities.
