MONROE, LA – The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors (LSLBC) and the Contractors’
Education Trust Fund (CEFT) presented a $275,000 donation to the ULM Foundation for
the ULM School of Construction Management at a ceremony on October 4, 2024.
ULM President Dr. Ron Berry thanked the groups for the donation and applauded their
advocacy for the School of Construction Management’s students and faculty, as well
as the construction industry.
To date, the LSLBC and the CEFT have donated a combined $4 million to the ULM School
of Construction Management.
The many years of support from these organizations have allowed the School of Construction
Management to improve facilities, technology, and student experiences.
Guest speakers at the event included Brad Hassert, Executive Director of the Louisiana
State Licensing Board for Contractors, and Ken Naquin, CEO of Louisiana Associated
General Contractors.
Special guests at the presentation included State Representative Michael Echols, State
Representative Foy Gadberry, and State Senator Stewart Cathey, Jr.
The meeting also coincided with the annual meeting of the Industry Advisory Council
for the School of Construction Management, which includes construction industry professionals
and leaders from across Louisiana.
The ULM School of Construction Management, founded in 1966, is the oldest school of
its kind in the state and is committed to being the premier institution of construction
education in Louisiana.
The School has a 100 percent passage rate on licensing examinations, and a 100 percent
placement rate, with most seniors accepting positions before they graduate. The starting
salaries of graduates are the highest in the university’s undergraduate programs.
