Convocation 2024

MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe's annual freshman convocation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, at 6:00 p.m. at Malone Stadium. Convocation will kick off with the traditional parade across the bridge at 5:45 p.m.

Freshmen are the focus of convocation, which begins with a walk across the ULM bridge on Northeast Drive and ends in Malone Stadium. The walk represents the beginning of their academic journey and its ending when they receive their degrees at graduation. ULM’s spirit groups and Sound of Today marching band will join the freshmen in their march across the bridge, along with ULM administrators, faculty, and staff.

Convocation is not only for first-time freshmen but also for all students who are new to ULM, in addition to any returning students who wish to attend.

President Ron Berry will address the students, along with featured ULM alumnus guest speaker Montrell Marshall, Student Government Association President Jadyn Maloney, and Campus Activities Board President Beau Benoit.

Guest speaker Montrell Marshall, M.A.T, M.Ed., is a three-time ULM graduate with a B.S. in Biology and master’s degrees in Educational Technology Leadership and Secondary Education.
