MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe raised more than $556,000 during its second annual Day of Giving on May 3, 2024. A total of 176 donors raised $556,557 for their favorite colleges and sports on the Bayou.
“Gifts were received from friends of ULM all over the world in support of academic programs, colleges, sports, scholarships – many noble purposes that hold personal meaning,” said Susan Chappell, Executive Director of the ULM Foundation. “Each person’s motivation to contribute to and invest in ULM is a source of inspiration, much like the powerful videos of ULM students that were shared during the Day of Giving. Being a part of this university family fills me with pride and hope,” continued Chappell.
For the 2024 Day of Giving, donors were encouraged to give toward the Student Academic Endowment or the Athletic Excellence Fund. The Student Academic Endowment creates a perpetual source of funding for merit-based Academic Scholarships given to deserving students. The Athletic Excellence Fund provides student-athletes with strength and conditioning, nutrition, and mental health opportunities.
“We are so appreciative to our generous donors who stepped up on the ULM Day of Giving to support our 385 student-athletes across 17 sports,” said ULM Director of Athletics John Hartwell. “There is a lot of positive momentum around Warhawk Athletics right now and this support will help keep building this positive trend. Thanks again and Go Warhawks!” he added.
