MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe Campus Activities Board (CAB) is inviting the public to kick off the holiday season with the annual tree lighting ceremony on Monday, December 2, at 5:30 p.m.

The Holidays at ULM festivities will take place at Scott Plaza, adjacent to the ULM Library. The event will be hosted by the newly crowned Miss ULM Lake Carpenter, Mr. ULM Vincent Winston II, and will feature performances from the ULM Hawkline dance team and the ULM Choir. President Ron Berry will offer remarks and light the tree.

“The tree lighting ceremony is a cherished tradition we share with the community,” said Sidney Jones, Coordinator of Student Activities and CAB Advisor. “It serves as a beacon of unity, tradition, and peace and is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the end of another year together and the new year to come.”

Hot chocolate, photo ops, and cookie and ornament decorating will be available for all attendees. The first 100 students to claim a voucher will be eligible to receive a free ULM beanie at the Warhawk men’s basketball game at Fant-Ewing Coliseum immediately following the ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Attendees can also donate to the Warhawks for Hope Christmas Project drive. All gifts and donations collected will stay local, directly benefiting clients served by The Center for Children & Families’ annual Christmas Project. Learn more about the project here.

The event is free and open to the public. No registration is needed.
