MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe Horn Ensemble recently attended and performed at the 2024 Southeast Horn Workshop, held on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, GA on February 23-25, 2024.
This regional conference featured performances and masterclasses by renowned guest artists and pedagogues, including Richard Deane of the New York Philharmonic and Victoria Knudtson of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The ULM Horn Ensemble was invited to perform on a Regional Artist Recital at the conference, along with other student and faculty performers from the region.
"Attending conferences such as the Southeast Horn Workshop is a wonderful opportunity for our students to experience learning outside of the classroom," said James Boldin, DMA, Professor of Music and conductor of the ULM Horn Ensemble. "Hearing recitals by world-class professional musicians and performing alongside their peers from other universities adds breadth and scope to their musical studies, and we are grateful to the ULM School of Visual and Performing Arts for making this trip possible."
The ULM Horn Ensemble is open to all horn players who are current ULM students, and membership includes both music majors and non-majors.
