MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana Monroe will host the "Little Engineers Blueprints and Beyond" Summer Camp from May 27 through May 30. This hands-on engineering camp uses the Changemaker curriculum, focused on plastics and electricity, and is free to students in Ouachita Parish who will be entering the 4th and 5th grades in Fall 2025.

The camp will be held in Walker Hall on the ULM campus. It will run from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, through Friday, May 30.  Box lunches will be provided for students each day. There is no fee to register, but registration is required by May 13, 2025. Parents can register their students here: https://bit.ly/ulm-blueprints-2025

“This camp promises to be lots of hands-on fun,” said camp organizer Dr. Sandy Watson, a professor in the ULM School of Education. “Students can be ready to become engineers by engaging in real-world engineering challenges such as building water filters to catch plastics in a bay, investigating ocean ecosystems, wiring electric circuits, creating a northern lights display, and more!” added Watson.

The Blueprints and Beyond Camp is made possible by an IUSE grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). IUSE stands for Improving Undergraduate STEM Education. Learn more about IUSE and the NSF by clicking here
