Facilities

The Toxicology Asbestos and Mold Analysis Laboratory is housed in the Chemistry and Natural Sciences Building on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe. The Chemistry and Natural Sciences Building (CNSB) is located at the corner of University Ave. and Northeast Drive; the lab is on the first floor, room 120 and is also identified with a sign.


Testing Capabilities

The lab is designed specifically for bulk asbestos analysis by polarized light microscopy (PLM) (EPA Method 600).  PLM Gravimetry and Point Counting available on bulk or multiple layered samples.  Price quotes are available upon request. Discounts may be given for multiple samples which are submitted at the same time.  Rush Services are available upon request at a surcharge.

Instrumentation:  
State of the art Olympus BX53-P Polarizing Light Microscope fitted with a PAXcam digital camera, Olympus CK40 Culture Microscope, Olympus SZ51 Zoom Stereo Microscope, Thermo Scientific Thermolyne Benchtop Muffle Furnace, and a Mettle XP205 Analytical Balance.
