International Student Admissions Information

Please ensure all of your required documents (application, forms, etc.) are submitted by the dates listed above. Your admission credentials will be evaluated after all your application materials are received.

Applicants will be notified by email of an admission decision. If admission is granted, a Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20) will be sent 7-10 business days from the date of admission.

Admission Standards for International First-Time Freshmen

High School Requirements

• Be admissible to a university in your country

Completion of a secondary program comparable to US high school graduation with a minimum 2.50 GPA; must include courses in English and Mathematics for scholarship consideration

Testing Requirements

Students MUST take the SAT or ACT to be admitted and qualify for academic aid. (Please send your SAT scores from the same email address as your admission account if possible. If you are not able to do so, please notify us via email so we may locate your scores and add them to your record.) 

-AND-

Students MUST take an English Proficiency Exam

English Proficiency testing may be waived with a 640 on the EBRW portion of the SAT with a 1200 composite OR Your country is English Testing Exempt (See list for countries granted English Placement Exempt Countries)

SAT/ACT Required Scores

• SAT Evidence Based Reading and Writing ≥ 500 (ACT 18)

• Math ≥ 510 (ACT 19)

*If your SAT EBRW or SAT Math meets the requirement, the other sub score can be a minimum of 430 on SAT Math (16 on ACT Math) or a minimum of 440 on SAT EBRW (15 on ACT English).

Required Supplemental Items for International First-Time Freshman. *Documentation may be uploaded to your application for provisional admission. ALL Items must be received prior to admission.

High School Transcripts and SAT scores are only considered official when we receive the hard copy upon arrival.

1. $30 application fee.

2. Official transcripts from your high school mark sheets, completion certificates and any required national exam results for secondary school completion. (These must be translated to English)

3. Official SAT or ACT scores should be sent directly from ACT/SAT to ULM.

4. SAT Scores ULM SAT school code is 6482

    ACT Scores ULM ACT school code is 1598

5. Official TOEFL, Duolingo English Proficiency exam or IELTS greater than or equal to the minimum scores listed above

6. Statement of Financial Backing – establishes funding source and amount provided by source

7. Proof of Funding – This is the Bank statement or Bank letter that will accompany your Financial Backing Statement

8. Valid Passport

9. Submit immunization requirements to Medicat - check here for more information.

    *Immunization records are required after an admission decision is made


Admission Standards for International Transfer Students

Requirements for Transfer Students from a US Institution

• A transferable Associate Degree (AA or AS or AGS) or minimum 18 college-level academic hours with a 2.50 minimum GPA

• Must have completed a college-level Mathematics (equivalent to “College Algebra” or higher level) with a grade of C or better.

• English (equivalent to English Composition at US universities) credit from a U.S. accredited institution or an English proficiency exam if no transferrable English credit.

In addition, please provide a copy of your current I20 and fill out the SEVIS Transfer to ULM.

• Students who do not meet transfer requirements, but have 12+ transfer credits from a U.S. institution with a 2.5 GPA, may be admitted if they meet international first-time freshman requirements.

       Requirements for Transfer Students from outside of US

• A transferable Associate Degree (AA or AS or AGS) or a minimum 18 college-level academic hours with a 2.50 minimum GPA. Academic record must be evaluated by a foreign credential evaluation service. We accept WES,ECE, and SpanTran.

• Must have completed a college-level Mathematics (equivalent to “College Algebra” or higher level) with a grade of C or better

• English proficiency exam (English Proficiency testing may be waived if your country is English Testing Exempt (See list for countries granted English exemption English Placement Exempt Countries
