We are excited to announce a new award, the Best on the Bayou Award, that recognizes a ULM employee and the reinstatement of our George T. Walker Lifetime Achievement Award. Established in 1981, this award recognizes outstanding service to ULM and/or the community, which reflects ULM’s values of excellence, integrity, service, and diversity.
Distinguishes themselves through professional achievement in local, state, or national
affairs.
Demonstrates outstanding and continuing service to the University and the Alumni Association
by giving of their time, talents, and resources over a period of no less than five
years.

Since 2013, the ULM Alumni Association has awarded the Rising Young Alumni Award recognizes professional and/or personal achievement before the age of 40, which includes service to ULM and the community and reflects ULM’s values of excellence, integrity, service, and diversity.
Demonstrates emerging and unique success in their chosen career, community organizations,
and/or philanthropic endeavors.
Demonstrates commitment to ULM, the ULM Alumni Association, and continued investment
for future involvement with ULM.
This recipient must also be under 40 years of age at the time of receiving the award.

This award recognizes distinguished, long-term professional achievement, leadership, and service to ULM and the recipient’s community. The award takes into consideration the recipient's lifetime focus on ULM’s values, such as excellence, integrity, service, and diversity. This award may not be given out every year and is reserved for alumni who have dedicated themselves to ULM and communities over the course of their life.
Distinguished themselves through contributions to society and ULM through their accomplishments,
affiliations, and career, which have honored the legacy of ULM.
Attained prominence through their lifetime commitment to supporting the community
and ULM.
Exhibits integrity and a demonstrated commitment to service through an interest in
bettering the lives of others.

Recognizes a University employee for continuous support to the ULM Alumni Association by being an alumni advocate and supporting alumni initiatives. This employee’s actions also reflect ULM’s values of excellence, integrity, service, and diversity.
Distinguishes themselves on campus as an Alumni Association advocate.
Promotes and supports alumni initiatives both on and off campus.
Demonstrates outstanding and continuing service to the University and the Alumni Association
by giving of their time, talents, and resources over a period of no less than five
years.
The recipient must be a current employee of the University.
The recipient does not have to be ULM alumni.
Employees of the Alumni Association, Development, or Advancement are ineligible.
Employees holding the title of Vice-President or above are ineligible.
