Detailed Requirements for LPN to BSN Program

The Kitty DeGree School of Nursing provides an opportunity for licensed practical nurses to be admitted into the baccalaureate degree program. Graduates in nursing from state approved licensed practical nurse programs who are currently licensed in Louisiana may be admitted for full-time or part-time study.

Applicants for the LPN to BSN undergraduate program must meet the following criteria for their application to be considered:

Completed applications must be submitted to the Kitty DeGree Administration office, room 124 in Kitty DeGree Hall, by 4:00pm on the first Monday of February for Fall Semester admission and the second Monday of September for Spring Semester admission. The application fee receipt must accompany the application.

LPN to Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Articulation Agreement 2005

A minimum of 9 semester credit hours of nursing credit will be awarded to LPNs after completion of general education, pre-requisite, and transitional course requirements.

Once admitted to the professional component, program completion typically requires two years of full-time, continuous study.
