Detailed Requirements for Traditional Students
Applicants for admission to the pre-nursing program must meet the general admission requirements for admission to the University. For the first three semesters, a pre-nursing student receives instruction in general education and the basic physical and biological sciences.
Applicants for the traditional BSN undergraduate program must meet the following criteria for their application to be considered:
- meet the requirements for admission to the University
- fulfill the requirements of the pre-nursing curriculum
- have a cumulative grade point average of 2.8 in all required pre-nursing courses, excluding grades earned in developmental education level courses, Fine Arts, University Seminar, and Humanities courses
- no grade less than "C" will be accepted in any pre-nursing course
- courses more than 5 years old with a "D" or "F" will not be included in GPA calculations
- the most recent grade in a pre-requisite course will be used in GPA calculations
Completed applications must be submitted to the Kitty DeGree Administration office, room 124 in Kitty DeGree Hall, by 4:00pm on the first Monday of February for Fall Semester admission and the second Monday of September for Spring Semester admission. The application fee receipt must accompany the application.
