To support the College of Pharmacy you can give directly through The Dufilho Society. Established in 1991, The Dufilho Society is named in honor of Louisiana’s native Louis J. Dufilho. Mr. Dufilho was the first licensed pharmacist not only in the state of Louisiana, but the entire United States. He also opened the first apothecary shop in the U.S. His apothecary shop is located in the historic New Orleans French Quarter as the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum. We are proud of the rich and exciting history of our state and hope you will join us in sharing that pride through this society.
Funds generated by the society are used to support student achievements and innovation in the College of Pharmacy pursuit of excellence.
We do recognize the importance of planning for the future and believe that the trend
toward increasing needs for private support will continue. Therefore, depending on
the needs in any particular year, a minimum of 50% of funds derived through this program
will be placed into an endowment which will generate interest that can be used for
the priority needs of the school for years to come.
Those who make a pledge to the Dufilho Society will be recognized at the “Dufilho Society Evening of Thanks” event held at the College of Pharmacy.
Pledged gifts may be paid over a 10-year period.
The three giving levels are outlined below:
Structure of Giving
La Legion D’Honneur
La Guilde des Apothecaries
L’Ordre de Merite Pharmacien
