College of Pharmacy

Why Give

Because you care

Higher education in Louisiana has become more “state- assisted” than “state-supported,” meaning your help is critical in keeping the College of Pharmacy competitive with the growing number of pharmacy programs across the nation. Public surveys continue to indicate that the number one strength of the University of Louisiana Monroe is the College of Pharmacy, so please consider assisting us in our endeavor to provide the best and brightest pharmacy professionals.

Your investment in The College of Pharmacy reflects your commitment to the profession of pharmacy, our community and our state. Your commitment enhances our quality of faculty, staff, and students – future pharmacist.

The University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy holds a very special place in my heart. When I graduated, it was known as Northeast Louisiana University’s School of Pharmacy—or simply “Pharmacy School.” My connection to this institution runs deep: my father, Billy Nielsen,  graduated in 1962 when it was called Northeast College, and my two brothers, my sister, and I all followed in his footsteps. This university not only prepared each of us to serve our communities as Louisiana pharmacists but also shaped who we are today—professionally and personally.

I recently chose to give back through the Dufilho Society in support of renaming the Dean’s Office to the William Bourn Deans’ Suite. Dean Bourne was a remarkable mentor and my pharmacy school advisor, and his devotion to students and to this university left a lasting impact on my life. If you, too, are a graduate of this incredible program, I encourage you to consider giving back in any way you can. It feels deeply rewarding to know that I am helping to continue the legacy of excellence and care that defines the ULM College of Pharmacy.
