Ankit Patel, PharmD

Ankit Patel, PharmD, is a 2015 graduate of the ULM College of Pharmacy. On why he chose ULM, Ankit says he came to ULM during his junior year of high school because he was selected to be part of the Howard Hughes Program. After that summer, he loved the professors that were part of the program and knew ULM was the choice for him. “That summer made a significant impact on me because of the personal relationships and the attention the students got from their professors. I knew ULM was where I wanted to be. I thank all the professors I had from undergrad through pharmacy school,” says Ankit.

Currently, Ankit is a Pharmacy Zone Manager for Brookshire’s Grocery Company. He is passionate about helping and supporting his team and being able to help his patients. He believes pharmacy is a great career path. When asked what advice he’d give to those looking for a career in pharmacy he said, “pharmacy is constantly evolving, and you must be ready to change with it. The scope of practice is getting broader as us pharmacists are making a change in the field of health care. There are plenty of ways pharmacists can make an impact on the lives of our patients.”

Ankit resides in Frisco, Texas, with his wife, Poonam, and their adorable son, Shreyan. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and staying active.
