The ULM TRIO Step-by-Step Child Development Program (CCAMPIS) is a federally funded grant program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and under the auspices of TRIO Programs at ULM. The program is designed to support ULM student-parents while completing their education.  Student-parents who are eligible may receive financial support for childcare costs while in class.

ULM Student-parents must meet the following criteria in order to receive a subsidy:

  • Legal guardian of the child
  • Enrolled full time (minimum of 12 credit hours for fall and spring semesters; 6 credit hours for summer semester)
  • Pell Grant eligible or income eligible
  • Enrolled and in good standing at ULM: GPA of 2.0
  • Provide an educational plan developed with your academic advisor
  • Apply each semester

Obligations:

  • Complete a survey designed to evaluate the ULM TRiO Step-by-Step CCAMPIS Child Development Program
  • Notify ULM TRiO Step-by-Step CCAMPIS Child Development Program of any changes
  • Submit verification of meeting with TRiO advisor each semester to maintain an academic plan ensuring student-parent remains on target for degree completion
  • Participate in at least one ULM TRiO Step-by-Step CCAMPIS Child Development Program approved family event, one financial literacy training, and one parent workshop each semester
