Faculty/Staff FAQ:

Q - What is TALON?

This ULM-developed system is designed to improve student retention and graduation rates and reduce faculty advising loads, allowing more time for student mentoring, career exploration, teaching and research.

Q - Where can I access TALON?

TALON is accessible under Campus Systems in the myULM portal or at the following web addresswebservices.ulm.edu/talon

Q - How do I know if a student is a TALON student?

TALON students have a hold in INB on the SOAHOLD screen called "SSC TALON Student." This hold is simply an identifier and does not need to be lifted for a student to register, drop classes, or do anything else on their Banner account.

First time freshmen are part of TALON for their first year at ULM. This includes FTFs who started in the spring term.

Q - Where do students change their major?

Students change their major in the Dean's office or the SSC. First Time Freshmen changing majors will complete their change of major form in the SSC for their first year of school. All other changes of major will go through the Dean's office of the major to which they are changing unless otherwise specified.

the semester, but you may submit whenever you deem necessary.
