Office 365 Education is a collection of cloud-based services from Microsoft for accessing online versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Outlook, Publisher, as well as Yammer and SharePoint sites. The services also include 1TB of storage in OneDrive. Not all services may be immediately available as ULM Information Technology (IT) is working with learning the management aspects of some of the new features. As additional items are activated, appropriate announcements will be made for those usages.
Students currently attending ULM can use the online versions, or install the full Office applications for free. Office 365 Education access enables students to collaborate with others in real-time and share schoolwork. Full access can be used for up to 5 PCs or MACs, and Office apps on mobile devices including Android, iPad®, and Windows tablets.
You must be an active full-time or part-time Student or Employee at ULM.
Students can use Office 365 Education until they graduate or are no longer enrolled at the university. Student’s eligibility may be re-verified at any time. Employees can use Office 365 Education during the length of employment. Afterwards the availability is restricted as follows.
When the Office Education services expire for a student, the full Office Applications will enter a reduced-functionality mode. Students will be able to view documents, but cannot edit or create new documents. Additionally, Online services (i.e. Office Online and OneDrive) will no longer work.
OneDrive is associated with ULM and should be used for school-appropriate content only (i.e., homework and schoolwork).
Note: Permissions and access can be changed by the administrator at any time.
Office 365 Education is licensed for use only by individual students/employees attending ULM, and cannot be shared with others.
To install Office 365 Education for Students/Employees, your PC or Mac must meet the minimum system requirements. View the system requirements over at the Microsoft official site.
