Residence Hall Maintenance Requests

If something in your residence hall is not working properly, use the information below to determine whether it is an emergency or a non-emergency, and how to report it.

Emergency Maintenance Requests

Emergency maintenance issues involve an immediate risk to safety, health, or property and require prompt attention. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Water leaks or flooding
  • Sewer or plumbing backups
  • Heating or air conditioning failure
  • Smoke smell not related to cooking
  • Fire or life safety concerns
  • Electrical or breaker issues
  • Elevator emergencies

During university business hours: Call the Residential Life main office immediately.

After hours: Contact the Staff Member on Duty as soon as possible. Residential Life staff will assess the situation and coordinate next steps with Facilities and Maintenance as needed.

Non-Emergency Maintenance Requests

Non-emergency maintenance requests involve routine repairs that do not pose an immediate safety concern. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Beeping smoke detectors
  • Slowly draining sinks, tubs, or showers
  • Lock changes
  • Room or exterior lighting issues
  • Pest concerns
  • Non-operational elevators
  • Other general maintenance needs

Submit a Maintenance Request (external link) to have the issue reviewed and addressed.

Residents should provide a clear and detailed description of the issue. Students do not need to schedule an appointment and are not required to be present during the repair.

Services Managed by Third-Party Providers

The following services are not handled by Residential Life Maintenance and must be reported directly to the appropriate service provider:

Warhawk Village Apartments operate under a public-private partnership.

Residents should submit work orders through the Entrata Resident Portal (external link) or contact the Warhawk Village Apartments Office during business hours. After hours, residents should contact the Staff Member on Duty.
